Peter Ratcliffe Legends In Time

Legends In Time was established in 1988 by designer, entrepreneur, and motorsport enthusiast Peter Ratcliffe. Originally a signed prints business, Ratcliffe was the first to introduce signed Formula One collectibles to the market and has worked with drivers like Juan Manuel Fangio, Niki Lauda, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, and Michael Schumacher. Ratcliffe has also owned the ex-Ayrton Senna JPS Lotus, which he has done demonstration runs with at Goodwood, Brands Hatch, and Donington Park.

Friendship with Sir Stirling Moss

Ratcliffe was a close friend of Sir Stirling Moss, and had shelved his business in part to help care for Moss during his final years. After Moss’s death, Ratcliffe reopened Legends in Time in 2021 with a focus on designing and manufacturing Swiss watches.

Stirling Moss Editions

Each Stirling Moss edition model sports a dial personally signed by Moss himself, with the case back featuring a piece of the British driver’s last racing suit. In addition to the two models made to celebrate Moss’s 80th birthday, the Moss Monaco 1961 was released to commemorate the famous Formula One race win. Additional Stirling Moss models pay tribute to his other racing achievements at the Mille Miglia, RAC Tourist Trophy, and Le Mans.

Giacomo Agostini and Emerson Fittipaldi

Ratcliffe has so far made timepieces in honor of two other racing legends: Eight time 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix World Champion Giacomo Agostini and two-time Formula One World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi. The Agostini 15 celebrates Agostini’s 15 world titles across all Grand Prix classes contested, and the Fittipaldi 72 commemorates his first world title driving for Lotus. The timepieces have a limited edition of 150 and 172, respectively.
