JeanRichard was a Swiss watch manufacturer that was last owned by the Kering Group, which formerly owned Girard-Perregaux. The company roots date back to 1681 with Daniel JeanRichard, who had pioneered the watch industry in the Swiss canton Neuchâtel.
Recent History and Shut Down
More recent company highlights include the 1994 release of the TV Screen collection, and establishing in-house manufacturered movements in 2004. The brand was eventually shut down in order to focus on the higher-end Girard-Perregaux, with the website redirecting to the sister brand sometime between 2020 and 2021.
MV Agusta and Giacomo Agostini
JeanRichard had formed a partnership with Italan motorcycle company MV Agusta in 2007, and had released the JeanRichard Bressel 1665 Chronograph Rattrapante Foudroyante “Ago” (ref. 53012-79-11A-AEED and 53012-79-61A-AEED) in honor of 15-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing world champion Giacomo Agostini, who had spent most of his legendary career racing for the Italian marquee. Both the silver and black models featured the nickname “Ago” on the dial.
