RO-NI is a Swiss watch manufacturer based in St. Moritz that specializes in high performance watches, with a pronounced inspiration by motorsports. High tech materials are a common element across their offerings, such as their Superleggero models featuring carbon fiber and beech wood cases derived from Formula One cars. RO-NI has also partnered with MV Agusta to celebrate the Italian brand’s 75th anniversary in 2020 with the RO-NI RMV MV Agusta, which shares materials commonly found on the Italian brand’s motorcycles.
Giacomo Agostini
From 2022 to 2023, 15-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing world champion Giacomo Agostini served as a brand ambassador for RO-NI. The RO-NI AGO (ref. RN-RGA-RS1-R) was created to commemorate the partnership, which houses the caliber R-S-1 Titanium found in their Tempesta R models, a thinner carbon fiber bezel, and a rose gold dial unique to the model. Only two pieces were created: One belonging to Agostini himself, and the other owned by the maison.
Other pieces worth mentioning include an RT1-S prototype that was worn by Agostini at various MotoGP rounds during the 2022 season, which was created to test a new carbon fiber bridge design.
Worn by Carlo Vanzini
Sky Italia F1 commentator Carlo Vanzini is also the proud owner of two RO-NI pièces uniques: an RT1 Plus tourbillon on a leather racing strap and a modified Tempesta R with interchangeable crowns.
