Giorgio Piola

Giorgio Piola is an Italian Formula One journalist, commentator, and illustrator. Having attended more Grands Prix than anyone in history at over 800 race weekends, Piola began attending Formula One races in 1969 as a chief editor of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the most widely read daily newspaper in all of Italy that was founded in 1896. He has also since reported for numerous other racing publications as well as provided technical drawings and illustrations of Formula One cars. Before the widespread use of computers, Piola has also helped with designing cars.

Designing Watches

In 2017, Giorgio Piola launched his lifestyle brand of watches with the help of the Motorsport Network. The collection includes the G5 automatic and STRAT-3 quartz models, both reflecting Piola’s artistry and decades of Fomula One history.
