Invicta

Invicta began life in 1837 as Les Fils de R. Picard, which was founded by Raphael Picard in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The Invicta brand name first appeared in 1911, named after the Latin word for “invincible”. Invicta SA had become a mass market brand by the 1950s, but went bankrupt in the early 1980s and was sold to Ondix SA in 1983 which continued to produce Invicta timepieces in Switzerland. After Ondix folded due to low sales, the brand was acquired and re-established as an American company and headquartered in Hollywood, Florida.

Virtuosi Racing

Invicta partnered with the Virtuosi Racing Formula 2 team in 2023, during which the British outfit competed as Invicta Virtuosi Racing. The Invicta brand enjoyed three F2 victories and two further podium finishes in their debut season thanks to Jack Doohan, son of five-time 500cc Grand Prix motorcycle world champion Mick Doohan.

Team Ownership

The team was rebranded as Invicta Racing in 2024 after Invicta had purchased an ownership stake. In the same year, the younger Doohan was also confirmed for a 2025 Formula One race seat with the Alpine F1 Team and has since signed a partnership with H. Moser & Cie.

Juan Manuel Correa

Invicta has also been a personal sponsor of American-Ecuadorian F2 driver Juan Manuel Correa, with whom they have released the JM Correa line. Also worth mentioning is their Formula One-inspired S1 Rally line, first announced in 2018.

Invicta Racing

To commemorate their involvement in Formula 2, Invicta has released a large number of automatic and quartz Invicta Racing-branded timepieces in a variety of styles. Invicta Racing has notably won both the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Teams’ and Drivers’ Championships with Brazilian racing driver Gabriel Bortoleto, who made his Formula One debut in 2025 with Sauber alongside Nico Hülkenberg.
