Juan Manuel Fangio

Juan Manuel Fangio (June 24, 1911 – July 17, 1995) was an Argentine racing driver who made his Grand Prix debut in the inaugural Formula One season. Fangio holds a number of records that are unlikely to ever be broken such as an astonishing 46.15% career win rate, as well as winning Formula One World Championships with four different teams: Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Ferrari. His record of five world titles had also remained unbeaten until Michael Schumacher‘s sixth championship win in 2003. Fangio also has the unusual distinction of being kidnapped during the 1958 non-Formula One Cuban Grand Prix weekend.

Telda

Over 30 years after Fangio’s retirement, the Telda Mercedes-Benz Classic Juan Manuel Fangio Chronograph was released. Limited to 1,000 pieces, the dial features the legendary F1 champion’s name while the exhibition case back reveals the Mercedes-Benz logo.

TAG Heuer

TAG Heuer has also released limited edition timepieces in honor of the Argentine driver such as the TAG Heuer Juan Manuel Fangio Targa Florio (ref. CX2113) that was limited to 1,957 to commemorate the year of Fangio’s last Formula One title, and the TAG Heuer Carrera Juan Manuel Fangio Limited Edition (ref. CV201AK).
